How many of you have ever felt like LIFE was running you
rather than YOU were running your life?
Well..... if that's the case then today's BLOG is for you.
Being... SUPER BUSY has almost become a status symbol in our country.

We run from place to place and have adapted to LIVING in our cars.
In fact, recent data from insurance companies say that a mass majority of car crashes are due to people performing acts other than DRIVING, in their cars.
Top 5 things people do in their cars:
1. EAT - (did you know eating in your car increases your chance of an accident by 80%)
2. SHAVE/APPLY MAKEUP (including painting fingernails and toenails!!!!!)
3. CONFERENCE CALLS, APPOINTMENTS, Sending and Answering E-MAIL
4. SHOPPING online
5. CHANGING CLOTHES
So.... in a world full of busy people.... WHAT can you do?
Neuroscience tells us that even a 15 minute break to "UNPLUG" from our busy lives
can give the brain a much needed rest and energy boost.
Something as small as:
*a 15 minute nap,
*a relaxing meditation in your office
*or even a quiet walk outside or down the hall
can literally change the way your brain is working!
AND..... if you don't have 15 minutes to spare, then you don't really have your HEALTH as a priority.
In May 2017 an article by The Journal of Neuroscience, uncovered astounding new data revealing that "portions of synapses (our brains way of communicating with itself) are literally eaten because of sleep loss." Images above, from the study, show how the lack of sleep causes actual DAMAGE to the BRAIN! A continual state of BUSY does not let the brain regenerate and creates a state of bombarded stimulation.
According to a study by The Mayo Clinic on stress....
a SHIFT in mindset is another easy way to deal with the tensions of a busy life. We have all heard at least a million times about the harmful side effects of stress, however, most people don't know the real BENEFITS of using GRATITUDE and positive thinking.
Here are just a few of the scientifically studied changes reported in thousands of studies across the globe on the effects of changing our NEGATIVE THINKING!
SO... in a world packed FULL of busy.... take a moment to SHIFT your thinking. With a little practice you can make almost any situation an opportunity to be grateful.
*I HATE this stupid job- can be: I am grateful that while I look for a new job, this one provides the financial means necessary for the things my family needs. (I can promise you there is someone in the world praying to be in exactly your "sucky" job)
*This weather is so HOT I feel like I'm going to burst into flames- I am thankful for the opportunity to go inside my AIR-CONDITIONED house, and I am NOT living under a bridge somewhere today.
*No one appreciates what ALL I do- I am so very thankful that I know how to do so many things. (Someone out there has worked very hard to learn the skills we fuss about having) A man with NO HANDS would certainly LOVE to be doing your dishes!
Dr. Robert Emmons calls this method comparative gratitude! I learned about it 2 years ago and boy-oh-boy does it change your perspective. When you pause for just a moment and realize that there is a person somewhere in the world whose greatest dream is to have what you are complaining about.... it sure changes your attitude!
SO.... stop for 15 minutes and let your BRAIN relax and be grateful for the things you take for granted: Even in this heat you can appreciate that there are people who LOVE you and are grateful you're alive!
I was the happiest, sweaty loser on the course knowing 2 of my favorite fellas
love me enough to want to spend the day with ME!
May you all take a moment to be grateful!
